You do not need a truckload of specialized handheld scanners to run scan-verified delivery. ScanIt Delivery runs on ordinary smartphones — the same phones your drivers already have in their pockets. That means a dealership can put drivers on the app without a hardware purchase standing in the way.

Rugged handheld scanners from Chainway, Urovo, and Monarch are fully supported for teams that want them. But they are an option, not a requirement. Drivers can use whatever the dealership already has.

The phone camera does the scanning

On a standard phone, ScanIt Delivery uses the phone's built-in camera to read barcodes. The driver points the camera at the part's barcode and the app captures it — the same scan-to-confirm accuracy you would get from a dedicated scanner, using hardware the driver already owns.

That camera scan drives the same verified workflow: confirming the right parts reached the right stop, tying deliveries to the route, and building the proof-of-delivery record.
