Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about ScanIt Delivery — DMS integration, offline support, supported devices, proof of delivery, tracking, and pricing.

Getting Started

ScanIt Delivery is the last-mile driver app for the ScanIt Parts platform. It gives drivers barcode-verified truck loading, optimized multi-stop routing with native turn-by-turn hand-off, and a scan-confirmed proof of delivery — signature, photos, and GPS — for every stop. It's built for dealership parts departments that already run ScanIt Parts for receiving, cycle counting, picking, and packing.

ScanIt Delivery plugs directly into the ScanIt Parts platform: routes and invoices flow from your DMS through PickIt and PackIt into the driver's route board, and every scan, signature, and photo syncs back to ScanIt Parts and your DMS automatically. There's nothing to re-enter — receiving, picking, packing, barcode-verified truck loading, and delivery are one connected chain.

Yes. Scans, signatures, photos, and GPS positions save locally the instant they're captured, so drivers keep working through cell dead zones and rural routes without losing a delivery record. Everything syncs automatically the moment a signal returns — nothing waits on a live connection.

ScanIt Delivery runs on both Android and iOS phones today, plus rugged handheld scanners from Chainway, Urovo, and Monarch. Drivers can use whatever hardware the dealership already has on hand — there's no forced hardware purchase to get started.

Platform & Proof of Delivery

Yes. ScanIt Delivery runs on both Android and iOS today — iPhone and iPad included — so drivers use whatever phone they already carry. The public Google Play and App Store listings are coming soon; contact us and we'll activate driver access for your dealership now.

Drivers barcode-scan each part at the door to confirm the right parts reached the right stop, then capture a customer signature and up to 4 photos. Every signature and photo is geo- and time-stamped, and drivers can add delivery notes or flag exceptions for damaged, short, or refused deliveries — all of it syncing back to dispatch and your DMS automatically.

Not today. ScanIt Delivery gives dispatchers live GPS tracking of every route and driver from the dispatch dashboard, but there is no customer-facing tracking page or link that customers can open to watch their own delivery arrive in real time. Live tracking today is dispatcher-side only.

Scanning, Returns & Completion

Yes. Instead of scanning every box, a driver can scan a single container or pallet shipping label to mark every part inside that container delivered at once, with each part still tagged to its truck bin. It's a fast way to clear large multi-part drops in one scan.

Yes. Drivers can handle customer returns right at the stop: scan or key the parts being sent back, pick the invoice, choose a return reason, add a note, and upload it — a full return workflow built into the delivery app, so there's no separate trip or paper credit slip.

The driver can still finalize the stop or the route after an explicit confirmation that records exactly what was and wasn't delivered — they aren't blocked from finishing. Notes and exception flags capture the partial, damaged, or refused lines so the record stays accurate.

That's up to the dealership. Per-dealer settings let you allow tap-to-confirm delivery so drivers don't have to scan every single part, or keep full barcode scanning where you want scan-level verification. You control the balance between speed and proof on your own account.

Either works. ScanIt Delivery runs on ordinary smartphones and uses the phone's built-in camera to read part and container barcodes, so no add-on scan gun is required. It also supports rugged handheld scanners from Chainway, Urovo, and Monarch when you prefer dedicated hardware.

Drivers and dispatchers message each other in named conversations inside the app. Push notifications reach the driver even when the app is off-screen — for new messages and for a changed active route — and tapping the alert opens the right conversation or the updated route. It's all internal between the driver and dispatch.

Availability & Pricing

ScanIt Delivery is available now for CDK dealers, the same rollout path as PickIt and PackIt. DealerTrack and AutoMate are on the IPS roadmap, with no committed release date yet. If you're on a different DMS, contact us and we'll let you know when support is ready for your platform.

Pricing depends on your dealership's route volume, driver count, and hardware needs, so we don't publish a flat rate. Contact us for a demo and we'll put together pricing specific to your operation.
