Real-Time Dispatch Chat & Alerts

Two-way messaging and push notifications that reach the driver even when the app is closed.

End the phone tag between the driver and the desk

Delivery days are full of small course corrections: a stop gets added, an address changes, a customer calls in asking where their part is. Handling all of that by phone means missed calls, voicemails, and a driver pulling over to dig out details. ScanIt Delivery replaces that with real-time messaging built into the app.

Two-way chat with named conversations

The driver and the dispatcher message each other directly inside the app. Conversations are named, so it is clear what each thread is about instead of one endless stream of texts. A dispatcher can send a quick heads-up, the driver can reply with a status or a question, and the whole exchange stays attached to the route it belongs to.

Why named conversations help:

When threads are named, the driver can glance at the list and know which message is about the added stop and which is about the customer who called — no scrolling to figure out context.

Push alerts that reach the driver off-screen

Messaging only helps if the driver actually sees it. ScanIt Delivery sends push notifications so the driver is alerted even when the app is in the background or the phone is locked. Two things trigger an alert:

  • New messages. When the dispatcher sends a message, the driver gets a push notification right away — no need to keep the app open and watch it.
  • Route changes. When the driver's active route changes, a push alert says so, so the driver knows to check the updated stops before heading to the next one.

Tap the alert, land on the right screen

Each notification deep-links straight to what it is about. Tapping a new-message alert opens that exact conversation. Tapping a route-change alert opens the updated route. The driver never has to hunt through the app to find what the notification was pointing at.

To be clear:

Dispatch chat and route alerts are for the driver and the dispatcher — the people running the delivery. They are an internal communication tool, not a customer-facing tracking feed.

What it looks like on a normal day

  1. Dispatch adds a rush stop to a driver's route.
  2. The driver's phone buzzes with a "your active route changed" push alert.
  3. The driver taps it and lands on the updated route with the new stop already in place.
  4. A quick chat message confirms the details, and the driver keeps moving.
